BDSc (Hons) MPhil DClinDent(Perio) – Dental Implants and Periodontics
Dr Alun Cheng is a Specialist Periodontist and expert in dental implants and gum procedures. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with First Class Honours at the University of Queensland. He then went on to complete a Master of Philosophy at the University of Sydney and his Specialist degree in Periodontics (Doctor of Clinical Dentistry) from the University of Queensland. Dr Cheng received the Dean’s Commendation Prize and Colgate-Palmolive Research Prize for his proficiency in Periodontics. He is also certified by the European Federation of Periodontology as a Specialist in periodontology and implant dentistry.
Dr Cheng specialises in gum disease treatment, regeneration of gum and bone deformities, aesthetic crown lengthening, and dental implant placement. He is well-liked by his patients for his patience, friendliness and gentleness.
Dr Cheng is an active member of Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), International Team for Implantology (ITI) and Australian & New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP). He is involved in teaching future dentists during their dental training.
In his life outside of dentistry, he enjoys running, weight training and various outdoor activities.
